Mickey Arthur who is known for his hard fitness regimes is currently coaching the Pakistani team, when asked about who he feels is current the best batsman in the world, Arthur does not take too much time in saying that he feels Virat Kohil is currently the best in the world and the one who impressed him the most -“I love watching Virat… He’s phenomenal”

Superstar Virat Kohli has been phenomenal in all formats, played some exceptional innings this year. Mickey Arthur previous has coached top rated batsman like Hansie Cronje and Gary Kirsten, but he said that whenever Virat Kohli walked down the pitch, he just sit and enjoy his batting.

“I love watching Virat… He’s phenomenal and is one batsman I sit down and watch whenever he comes to the crease. He’s right up there with the best I’ve seen… I still recall his 141 in the second innings of the Adelaide Test almost two years ago. He’d got a hundred (115) in the first innings as well,” Arthur told to the Telegraph.

“As I’ve said, Virat’s phenomenal… So is AB de Villiers… Joe Root is very good and David Warner’s fantastic. Having made a mark first in the T20 format, Warner had the shots. He’d lacked a good defense. Not so now… Indeed, after the early years, he’s taken his game to another level. I’m an admirer of Warner and follow his performances,” he said.

“Virat’s an interesting captain… He’s exuberant and very passionate about what he does. His passion for the top job comes through in abundance,” the former South African and Australian coach said.

Arthur also mentioned some other big names, who can play in all the three formats in the modern day cricket, like Joe Root and David Warner who can fit in and perform across all format of the game.

Arthur is also very impressed with Virat Kohli’s captaincy, stating that Virat is very passionate about what he does and he is a very interesting captain.
