The 24 year old Indian all rounder left out of Delhi Ranji team and from Delhi Daredevils side.
The 24 year old all rounder Pawan Negi has become a household name after the last year IPL auction, in the last year the Delhi Daredevils brought him with 8.5 corers, the second highest price taker last year, but he was unable to showcase his talent in the IPL and he struggled there and now the Delhi side left out him and this year in the IPL auction he will be there again.
In an interview the 24 year old, slow left-arm orthodox bowler revels that he wants to start the New Year on a new note and he wishes play in an IPL team and wants to contribute for them and money does not matter to him.
He added: “Erase all that happened and start 2017 afresh. I just want to play cricket, work hard and make an impact. I am not bothered how much I get in the IPL auction, it doesn’t matter trust me. It’s all about getting a team where I can get to play and express myself as an all-rounder,”
I want to show everyone what I am really worth as a cricketer and not judge me by my price tag. I don’t want 8.5 crores, just give me all IPL games to play and I would be happy.”
“People would look at me and keep asking me about the money I got at IPL auction, some would even ask me if I was even that good to get that much! Many didn’t even know I got picked for Indian team as well, but I guess that is what IPL is…2016 had bittersweet memories,”
The past year 2016 turns out to be not very fertile, he was benched by the Delhi Daredevils after a couple of IPL matches and then he was left out by the India A team and Indian national team and lastly from the Delhi Ranji team.
Negi voiced: “It all boiled down to my performances in IPL. I didn’t really cash in on the first couple of games and then I was benched and had a long break in between. At this level you have to keep performing but somehow I didn’t get that many opportunities and from there it all added up.”
