CSK Eager to Make It Three Out Of Three

Cricket News:The two-time IPL champion is having a dream comeback as they thrashed Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in their two opening games.

VIVO IPL 2018: CSK keen to keep momentum going at Mohali.

The yellow brigade is looking to maintain their winning streak as they face Kings XI Punjab in their third game of the season.

The Kings XI is coming to play from a loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore. However they have won their first match against Delhi Daredevils at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium, the same venue where they are going to face CSK.

CSK coach Stephen Fleming was seen very happy when speaking about his team’s performance to the media.

“I guess the positive is we’ve had two wins in two. They haven’t been great performances; but the lads have shown good character and most importantly they have been fighting wins, which sometimes at the start of the tournament is more valuable,” said Fleming.

However the change of home ground has left the CSK coach very disappointed.

“We are very disappointed to leave Chennai. We sat in the auction to pick a team that was based on the conditions in Chennai, and therefore we are disappointed to get only one home game. Making our home venue a fortress for us was going to be a big part of our strategy this year. But we have to adjust. That’s part of the IPL. We just need to keep scrapping.”

Fleming acknowledged the fact that Suresh Raina, who is currently suffering from injury, will not be available for the match against Punjab.

He said to the media that the loss of Raina will be a massive one, but the other players of the franchise are eager to step up for the role.
