AZHAR ALI: QUIET SURE OF GETTING QUALIFIED IN THE WORLD CUP 2019.

The ODI captain of Pakistan Azhar Ali has gained some bit of confidence to get a direct entry in the world cup 2019, after whitewashing West Indies by 3-0.

The clean sweep will definitely help Pakistan boost up their confidence and get qualified accordingly.

Starting the series on 86, Pakistan heaped three points for their efforts meanwhile West Indies who had 94 points lost out six points. The final result left Pakistan ranked eighth, with 89 points while West Indies came down in the ranking to ninth, with 88 rating points. 

The Pakistan captain also praised the efforts of , Mickey Arthur as well as the support staff for Pakistan’s improved showing in the shorter formats of the game. “Mickey has an important role,” he said. “It’s a full team and the credit also goes to the selection committee, fielding coach Steve Rixon, physio Grant Luden and (batting coach) Grant Flower – all have contributed a lot so it’s a full team,” he added.

Pakistan’s next ODI is a five-match series against Australia in January-February, 2017, and Azhar have got full faith on his team that they will indeed win the series against the toughest side in cricketing hiistory . “We can challenge Australia as well because we have new players who are match winners,” he concluded.
