ZIMBABWE vs NEW ZEALAND, 2nd TEST: VICTORY BOWS TO NEW ZEALAND AS THE TEAM SNATCHED THE MATCH

At the end of fifth day, New Zealand defeated Zimbabwe by 254 runs

 

 

New Zealand had the match in their name starting from the first innings, game-changers like Tom Latham(136), Ross Taylor(124*), Kane Williamson(113) gave the match a turn towards victory, where as Zimbabwe on their home-soil could not do much compared to their rivals. They were even restricted from taking wickets and the score turned to be 582 runs for New Zealand after losing only four wickets in the first innings. Zimbabwe, on the other hand competed as much as they could in that innings. Names like Craig Ervine(146) and Peter Moor(71) took the score to 362 after losing all ten men of the team. New Zealand bowler Ish Sodhi starred there, taking a total of four wickets. Neil Wagner and Mitchell Santner, each dismissed two players from the crease.

 

New Zealand declared their second innings after they managed to score a total of 166 runs at the loss of two wickets, letting their rivals to try for the game. Skipper Kane Williamson was undefeated on 68 where as Ross Taylor unbeaten on 67. Zimbabwe were dented to a low score of 132 runs at the loss of 10 wickets and New Zealand team triumphs on the Bulawayo ground. Martin Guptill and Ish Sodhi plucked 3 wickets respectively.
