INDIA VS NEW ZELAND 3RD ODI: INDIA HAVE WON THE TOSS AND HAVE OPTED TO FIELD

India have won the toss and have opted to field

The news from Mohali cricket cricket ground Punjab is that India have won the toss and the captain cool has decided to bowl first allowing the visitors to set a target for them.

Since two matches have already been played and it comes with a statistics of 1-1 with both teams winning one match each the pressure lies on both the teams to confront and win this match.

Teams:
New Zealand (Playing XI):
Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson(c), Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi(w), James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Trent Boult

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni(w/c), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah

Williamson: “I have mixed it up after losing 5-6 in a row, but it’s one of those things you can’t control (about losing the toss), looks a good surface. It was nice feeling to get a win in the last game. We showed steps of improvement. It’s hard to say what will be a good score on this surface. May be it will skid on a bit more with the dew around in the evening. We’ll have to assess with the top-order and then take it from there. We have one change, James Neesham comes in for Anton Devcich.”

Dhoni: “I just flick it and wait for the opposition to call. But I have lost a few as well. I think I lost 29 out of 32 at one point. I tried everything, to switch from right hand to left hand, but it doesn’t really help (smiles). He’s keeping the same call (referring to Williamson’s call at the toss). Mohali generally is a good surface to bat on, but with the dew factor, we are bowling first. That is the main reason and this is one venue where if there is dew, it could be heavy. When you look at our side, it looks complete and that’s the reason we are sticking to the same side.”

Pitch report by Sunil Gavaskar “I think there’s a lot more grass than the first two matches, that means that the bowlers will have some sort of a say. But, it is still going to be a very good pitch to bat on. Seam bowlers will have something for them on this wicket. Yesterday the dew was quite heavy and today there is a bit of breeze, so there might not be heavy dew, but there will be some,”
