There is no pressure on me as I have always been an integral part of the ODI team – Suresh Raina

The 29-year-old talent all rounded Suresh Raina has been called for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Raina has the integral part of Indian cricket team over years, but recently was dropped from the squad in past two limited over series against Zimbabwe and West Indies

It’s very unusual for Indian fans to see Suresh Raina not part of the Indian squad of limited over cricket. The player who has produced some blinders in past was not featured or called up for the series against Zimbabwe series and the T20 matches against West Indies in USA ( Florida).

The all rounder was the part of the Indian squad until earlier of this year in the tour to Australia and also played in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 back in march. But since then he lost his form and too in the wrong time in his cricketing career.

The Indian Captain MS Dhoni and the selectors has again shown faith on the talented all rounder and called him for the five match ODI series against Kiwis, starting from 16th October 2016 in Dharamshala.

“There is no pressure on me as I have always been an integral part of the ODI team. I was only rested when the youngsters were given exposure during the Zimbabwe ODI series. Whether I was rested or dropped (for the Zimbabwe trip), I will strive to cement my place in the Indian team,” he said with an air of confidence.

“I am confident of my abilities, be it ODIs or T20s. I have been hitting the ball sweetly in the nets and it augurs well for me as India have a long season ahead. We have been doing well in Test matches, now it is time to continue that good work in ODIs too,” he added.

Suresh Raina Recovers from viral fever

Suresh Raina suffered a viral fever and was in doubt to make it in the first ODI against New Zealand, but however, Raina stated he is back to fitness and ready to take on Kiwis in the opening ODI

“It was just a touch of flu. Now I have recovered and am back in the nets. I will soon join the Indian team in Dharamshala for the opening ODI match there.”
