SPORTSLIBRO CRICKET- LATEST CRICKET NEWS

It was a victorious win at the Wankhede when the mighty Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 wickets and 10 balls still left to be bowled out, the center of attraction was caught by the youngsters Nitish Rana & Krunal Pandya who stocked 45(36), 37(20) that led Mumbai Indians to a victorious win and we cannot just ignore the 39 useful runs from the hands of the opener Parthiv Patel whose contribution was totally outstanding

Jasprit Bumrah was awarded the player of the match for his outstanding performance of 3/24

Bumrah: This ground is a difficult place to bowl in the end generally. Usually when you have too many variations, you have to stick to 1-2 of them. It’s always very beneficial when Malinga is around. I’ve learned a lot from him from 2013. Nowadays we have to practice with the wet ball because it’s very difficult with all the dew.

This is what the captains had to say in the presentation ceremony:

Rohit: Was a perfect platform to showcase our talent with the ball because we all know how the SRH bat. It was a great effort from bowlers to restrict them to 158. The execution of plans was brilliant, and it becomes very easy for captains to maneouvre the field. Lot of credit goes to bowlers and fielders. Parthiv Patel makes my job easier in field placements. Great performance in the field and well finished by the batters. It’s still early days, only been 3 games. The first game in Pune was a close one, could have gone either way. But the last two games we’ve played here have been fantastic. Can’t ask anything more. Now the big challenge. We go to Bangalore for a big game. You must have seen both of them (the Pandya brothers) on the ground, they’re very expressive. We’ve given them the liberty and freedom. I hope they keep continuing because it’s a long tournament. Yes, the three games I’ve played, I didn’t have much to do. But I’ll be back stronger.

Warner: We were probably 20-30 short. It is a tough ground to defend. We knew there was going to be dew. The top four didn’t fire and we panicked in the first six. The ball was being hit straight to the fielders. It is tough circumstances here with the dew but the bowlers did a good job. It was something (Rashid struggling with the dew) at the back of my mind but he practiced with a wet ball and the result was only one full toss. It is always challenging to come here and beat Mumbai. But we are looking forward to playing some good cricket at Kolkata.
