HOLDER WANTS HIS TEAM TO TAKE MORE RESPONSIBILITY

Jason Holder wants his team to play well in the series and also to take some more responsibility

The Caribbeans in great tension as India already led the series of four by 2-0. The first and the third Test were taken by Indians where as the second one stood draw.  West Indies skipper Jason Holder belives the fault is all of batsmen as the higher ones needs to be more consistent and need to take more responsibility than the others.

“At the top, predominantly we haven’t been consistent. We are not getting starts we’ve been looking for. In the situation, the batsmen at the top need to come to the party and be a lot more consistent,”  said Holder.

“It’s difficult for anybody who is going to lead a team. We’ve been inconsistent. India are in a position where they have consistent players. They have players who have been consistent for many, many years. We’ve got a number of young players. We’re trying to build a side. It’s going to take time. The batsmen, if they get 20 or 30, should convert it into 50, 70 and 100 and beyond,” added the skipper.

The Caribbean captain also complimented Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha for their partnership of 213 runs which totally turned the game in favour of the visitors as in a stage they were dented to 130 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.
