India Under-19 coach Rahul Dravid addressed the media on Monday after the ICC U-19 World Cup triumphant over Australia.  More update on India Cricket News

Rahul Dravid and Prithvi Shaw the coach-captain duo spoke about the preparation and journey they have been though in the tournament. Rahul Dravid also reflected his views on 2012 U-19 world cup victory. 

India U-19 team have played some tough matches, as they have comprehensively  defeated arched rivals Pakistan in semi-finals by 203 runs and keep their nerve clam in the high pressure World Cup final against Australia and came out victorious. 

Speaking on team temperament Rahul Dravid said “The boys were aware that it’s a big game considering the public’s interest, but we didn’t look at it differently from any other match.”

“I don’t think we played our number one game in the final, but playing such a high-pressure final in such a big tournament is another experience. Then coming to Mumbai and seeing excitement, noise and so many people around them, that is another kind of experience.”

“I feel proud for these boys as they get to wear a World Cup winner’s medal. But I don’t think we played our number one game in the final but we got the result we wanted,” Dravid told reporters.

India U-19 side remained unbeaten throughout the Youth World Cup. They have brutally thrashed their opponents in all aspects of the game. Taking into account India’s dominance, Dravid stressed on the planning and process of developing players.

Speaking about the unbeaten World Cup triumph the legend said “The real satisfaction is about the whole process that was followed in the last 15 to 16 months. The planning and preparation of developing players is a good process we have put in place. We need to keep refining and developing this process,”

“As kids, they have had experiences which should hold them in good stead for an entire lifetime. To play in front of big crowd, matches which are televised and play a high-pressure final is something huge,” he added.

Speaking about the real winner in 2012?
