In the 1st Test Australia faced an uphill task to save the match and the scenario is quite similar in the 2nd test as Sri Lanka turn things in their favour. At the ends of the day’s play Australia were 83/3, and still needing 185 runs more to win the 2nd Test, as the umpires called off the day’s play because of the Bad light.
Steven Smith and Adam Voges were on the pitch until an end of play on day four. Australia yet again struggled against the Sri Lankan spin attack. Adam Voges looked a bit shaky and got LBW to a delivery from Perera, but he was quick to go for the review, which suggested the ball would slide down the leg side and would miss the stumps. On the other end the Australian Captain Steve Smith was poise and remains unbeaten on 26.
Kusal Mendis was the star of the day scoring marvellous 176, which help Sri Lanka to set a challenging target of 268 runs for the Aussies.
