The Legendary leg spinner finally backs away from being India National cricket team head coach.
Anil Kumble draws his end line as India's head coach ahead India's limited over series against the West Indies, Kumble whose contract expired on June 18 the day India clashed against arch Rival Pakistan in the CT final has decided not to extend his contract though he was given that option by the BCCI.
It came as a surprise when BCCI announced an advertisement for India's head coach on May 25 primarily because Kumble was there , Though BCCI stated that Kumble will get an direct entry into the selection process as he is the current coach.
It didn't take too long to spread the news as a wild fire with a controversial mix of the fact that there is a lot of tension going on between Kumble and Virat Kohli.
According to some sources Virat along with some senior cricketers opted against Anil Kumble as they found Kumble way of running things to appealing.
It is understood that the COA comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman wanted the Leggie to continue with his job but since he didn't had the majority of support with him anymore in the dressing room, he took the final call as to step down from his job.
